ElaN Languages first Belgian translation agency with EU-certificate

In 2008, ElaN Languages obtained the EU-quality certificate for translation services and was the first Belgian translation agency to do so. The quality procedure and the translation processes were evaluated after an external audit by Bureau Veritas.

EN15038

The EU-standard EN 15038 has replaced the national translation standards of the EU member states since 2006. According to the European standard, translation agencies must comply with the strict quality demands in the area of follow-up of translation projects, transparency of procedures, contact with clients and translators, etc. The standard can be compared with the Universal ISO-quality standard, but directed specifically to providers of translation services.

Revision

The key word here is 'quality'. Apart from the procedures of the translation process, the standard has also determined the service of translation agencies. EN 15038-certified translation agencies guarantee that translations will be revised by a second translator. The translators themselves have to be able to prove at least 5 years of professional translation experience.

Standards

Finally a quality standard! Clients can rely on ElaN meeting the technical standards of the translation industry.  Of course, the process doesn't end at attaining the standard.  ElaN is already going beyond that. It is of paramount importance that we keep up with technology and stay up-to-date. We are constantly questioning our processes to stay ahead!
